Six hours on the road , up through Kentucky, which is where the GPS took us, and back down into Tennessee and we were there. A little town that has apparently seen better , more prosperous days, we landed in Hornbeak, Tennessee. We found this town full of all kinds of characters, and had to do a bit of research to find the best places to get what we needed. When you visit here 'out of fishing season', alot of the businesses are just closed up, so plan carefully.
Our rental cabin sat directly on the lake, and our view from the back deck was of beautiful cypress trees.
We were able to drop a line into the water, if it were aimed just right, otherwise we left a few lines and lures stuck on the roots of trees. For example, the 3 lb and 7 ounce blue catfish Catie caught one late night, using what she fondly refers to as her 'stinky bait'
Catch and release, back into the lake you go ..
