With a passion to travel, and an intense love of wildlife and nature our family sets out to experience life on the road, whenever we can. One a published writer. Two, published photographers. We set out each journey by setting our GPS to ' Avoid Highways', and that is what we do. We hope to share with you our adventures, some amazing photography, reviews of everything from rental vehicles, camera equipment, campgrounds, and even shoes and clothing.

New Mexico, the land of enchantment
New Mexico, the Land of Enchantment....no truer words were spoken. Understand, we live within a 20 minute drive to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, so we have seen beautiful mountains, just not this type of landscape. We drove through a section that felt like a 'pass' coming out of Texas and into New Mexico that was nothing short of breathtakingly beautiful. We had never seen mountains like this, large, rocky, gorgeous. It seemed like you could see forever, and this feeling stayed with us for a very long time.
The photo below are the mountains we drove through and over from West Texas to New Mexico.
New Mexico...our first dust devils, signs which say to pull over in case of a dust storm, and endless scenic views. The native cactus, trees, the Mexican Bird of Paradise, all beautiful and something new for us to see. Every experience was a treasure for us, as everything was a first time.
Our rental, a 2012 Chevy Traverse , not only drove comfortably, but I have to admit to becoming a bit attached to the heated seat ! Very roomy in the back seat as well, with plenty of space to haul all of our stuff !
